In general, however, incisions for cheek implants are made inside the mouth, above the gumline of the upper teeth under each cheek. A small pocket is created and the implant is inserted. Dr. Laverson secures the implant by attaching it to bone or soft tissue, and then sutures the incisions closed. Because the incisions are made on the inside of the mouth, cheek augmentation with implants is scarless!
