San Diego CoolSculpting (AKA Cryolipolysis or “Fat Freezing”)
Most everyone has a few extra inches where they’d rather not. When you eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly, it makes it all the more frustrating to see stubborn pockets of fat clinging to your abdomen, hips, thighs, chin, back, and upper arms. Unfortunately, no matter how much time you put in at the gym, fat cells in these common trouble areas are often resistant to exercise, leaving you exhausted and embarrassed by the bulge beneath your clothes.
For patients who are hesitant to undergo liposuction for fat reduction, CoolSculpting (also known as Cryolipolysis or “fat freezing“) offers a non-invasive alternative for achieving a smoother, slimmer silhouette.
What is CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting is a non-invasive fat reduction procedure that uses fat freezing technology to smooth and slim your trouble areas. When exposed to a certain temperature, fat cells freeze and die. When this happens, the fat cells are eliminated through the body’s natural waste removal process. CoolSculpting is FDA-approved for fat reduction under the chin and jawline, thighs, abdomen and flanks, back, under the buttocks, and upper arm.
What can I expect from a CoolSculpting treatment?
When you arrive at our office for your CoolSculpting appointment, you’ll be guided to a treatment room where you’ll make yourself comfortable. To begin the procedure, Dr. Laverson will apply the applicator to the treatment area. You’ll feel a light suction sensation as the device attaches to your skin. Then, the cooling effect will kick in. You’ll feel some pulling, tugging, pinching, and intense cold before the treatment area becomes numb.
After the applicator is removed, Dr. Laverson will gently massage the treatment area to break up the treated fat cells and encourage the elimination process. There are no needles or incisions and you can return to your day as soon as you leave our office.
When will I see my full CoolSculpting results?
The initial results of your CoolSculpting session will become apparent one to three months after your treatment. As the body continues to eliminate frozen fat cells, your results will improve. Full CoolSculpting results can be expected six months post-treatment, though it may take longer.
Most patients see a 20% to 25% reduction in fat after just one CoolSculpting treatment. Browse our CoolSculpting before and after photos to see how this non-invasive fat reduction procedure can help you achieve your goals.
What are the side effects of CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting side effects are minimal and temporary. Patients have reported redness, swelling, bruising, firmness, tingling, aching, stinging, itching, and skin sensitivity at the treatment site, though everyone’s experience will be different. Dr. Laverson and his staff will make every effort to make your experience comfortable and relaxing.
How much does CoolSculpting cost?
The price of CoolSculpting depends on the size of the treatment area and how many treatments you decide to have. Many of our patients receive CoolSculpting on multiple areas of the body to achieve the slimming effect they desire. Generally speaking, CoolSculpting costs between $2,000 and $4,000 for a personalized treatment plan.
