Mary-Louise Parker Blames Brazilian Hair Treatments for Hair Loss
Mary-Louise Parker of the popular Showtime television show Weeds says that the popular Brazilian hair treatments made her hair fall out.
46-year-old Mary-Louise Parker recently told T magazine that the high levels of formaldehyde in many hair-straightening treatments made her hair fall out.
“I’ve experienced hair fall-out in the past and it is not fun. This treatment resulted in more,” she said. “My advice: don’t do it!”
Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer says, “It is possible that Mary-Louise Parker did experience her hair loss from over processing. It is not common for this to happen, but can happen if proper directions are not followed.”
In the past, Makemeheal.com has reported on Mary-Louise Parker’s possibly numerous plastic surgery procedures, including using multi-usage dermal injectables like Botox. Mary-Louise’s forehead is entirely smooth with no signs of horizontal creases. She also doesn’t have any vertical frown lines in her brows or crow’s feet around the eyes, only the gentlest crinkles when she smiles. Her eyebrows are also very arched and her cheeks very full. Also, her nasolabial folds (lines from the nose to the mouth) are not as deep as they usually are on a middle-aged woman. All this can be made possible by using various dermalfillers like Restylane and Juvedermto plump up and de-wrinkle the skin. Her lips are also full, indicating a possible lip augmentation. As importantly, her skin texture and complexion is remarkably youthful, suggesting that Mary Louise basks in laser skin rejuvenation treatments such as CoolTouch, Active Fx, or Fraxel that help promote collagen growth and reduce lines and wrinkles. Mary Louise has likely also had a nose job, resulting in a very defined tip (See Make Me Heal’s story on Mary-Louise Parker’s plastic surgery).
Many Brazillian hair treatment formulas have been found to have high levels of formaldehyde, a carcinogen, which straighten hair but also have health risks.
Fans can check out Mary-Louise’s plastic surgery and thinning hair when Weeds returns to the small screen on June 27th.
