Although the effect of Belotero Balance®  may be temporary, there is evidence to suggest long lasting benefit after repeated injection based on collagen deposition into the treatment area.  Dr. Steve Laverson applies both topical and regional anesthesia so application of Belotero® into the skin is comfortable.  Compared to other fillers, the consistency of Belotero® is soft enough that very fine lines respond best.  Radiesse®, Juvederm Ultra Plus®, and Perlane® are thicker, and designed for filling of deeper folds and creases.  If these thicker products are applied into fine surface creases and lines, lumpiness and visible contour irregularities result.  Belotero Balance® is specifically designed to smooth more superficial finer lines and creases, such as aging skin lines around the nose and mouth.

Vertical lip lines, forehead lines, lines around the eyes (“crow’s feet”), acne scar depressions, and other superficial skin contour irregularities are ideal applications for Belotero Balance® in Dr. Laverson’s opinion.  BELOTERO BALANCE^® may also fill deeper skin folds, but Dr. Laverson prefers fillers with more inherent substance and structure.
